What is the First Choice Store?First Choice Stores is a local grocery store in Bury, UK, offering fresh produce, daily essentials, and groceries. We provide both self-collection and home delivery options for your convenience.

Which areas do you deliver to?Scheduled Delivery: We currently offer scheduled delivery to Bury, Whitefield, Radcliffe,Unsworth, Heywood, Rochdale, Prestwich and Boltan. We’re excited to expand to Greater Manchester in the near future. Swift Delivery: Swift delivery is available in selected areas within Bury only. Self-Collection: Our self-collection service is available to customers from any location. If you’re ordering from outside our currently serviced delivery areas, you will only see the self-collection option at checkout. Note: Once you enter your postcode, the system will automatically display the available delivery options and the delivery price by area.

How do I place an order online?To place an order, visit our website, browse our products, add your chosen items to your cart, and complete the checkout process. You can select self-collection or delivery as your preferred method.

Can I modify my order after placing it?Once an order is placed, changes cannot be made online. However, you can reach out to our Customer Service team for assistance with modifications. Please be aware that due to a high volume of calls, there may be delays in contacting customer support, and furthermore the delay may affect delivering it to you on time. Please note: Orders cannot be placed by phone.

What happens if an item I ordered is unavailable?If an item is unavailable, we will attempt to substitute it with a similar product. You can indicate during checkout whether you are willing to accept substitutions.

How does the self-collection service work?Once you place an order, it will typically be ready for collection within 45 minutes. However, preparation may take longer during busy periods or for larger orders. You’ll receive an email notification as soon as your order is ready. Please ensure you collect your order within 2 hours of receiving the confirmation email. Pickup Hours: Monday–Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

What do I need to bring for self-collection?Please bring your order confirmation (via email or printed version) to verify your identity when collecting your order.

What happens if I miss my self-collection time?If you're unable to collect your order within the specified time, it will be marked as a "no-show," and a non-refundable service fee of £1.99 will be deducted from your refund. In addition Refunds will be processed according to our Payment & Refunds Policy, section 5.2.

What delivery options do you provide?1- Scheduled Delivery: Enjoy delivery within your chosen 2-hour time slot on a selected date. Same-Day Delivery: Place your order before 2:00 PM to Schedule for same-day delivery. Next-Day Delivery: Orders placed after 2:00 PM will be scheduled for delivery the following day. Schedule in Advance: You can schedule your delivery up to 7 days ahead for your convenience. 2- Swift Delivery: Delivery within 35-55 minutes in a specific Bury area only.. (Between 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM)

How are delivery charges structured based on distance?Delivery charges are determined by your location and the type of delivery selected: Scheduled Delivery: £2.99 - £7.99 (Charges vary based on your delivery area) Swift Delivery: £5.49 (Available exclusively in specific Bury areas)

How will I be informed about the status of my delivery?You will receive email updates: When your order is received. When the driver is en route. When the driver has arrived.

What happens if I am not available when the driver arrives?The driver will wait for up to 10 minutes. If there is no response, your order will be left in a safe place or according to your instructions. We are not liable for any damage or loss after the order is dropped off.

Can I change the delivery address after placing the order?Currently, we do not allow changes to the delivery address after an order is placed. Please ensure the correct address is provided at checkout.

Can I cancel my order?You can cancel your order in the "My Orders" section of your account: Swift Delivery: You can cancel your order for free within the first 10 minutes. If you cancel after 10 minutes but before dispatch, a £1.99 cancellation fee will apply. If your order has already been dispatched, the delivery charges will be deducted as a cancellation fee, and our Payment & Refund Policy will apply. 5.2 Scheduled Delivery:You can cancel for free up to 3 hours before your scheduled delivery time. If you cancel within 3 hours of the scheduled delivery, a £1.99 cancellation fee will apply. If your order has already been dispatched, the delivery charges will be deducted as a cancellation fee, and our Payment & Refund Policy will apply. Self-Collection: You can cancel your order for free within 30 minutes of placing it. If you cancel after this period, a minimum cancellation fee of £1.99 will apply. If you need to cancel your order due to an excessive delay in pickup, please note that affected products and non-refundable items, as per UK standards, will not be eligible for a refund.

Address Accuracy and Delivery Compliance (UK):In accordance with UK regulations, we can only deliver to the address provided at the time of your order. To ensure a smooth delivery experience, please double-check your address before completing your order. First Choice cannot be held responsible for any loss or misdelivery that results from an incorrect address. Thank you for your understanding!

Will I be refunded if I miss my collection or delivery?Swift Delivery: If you miss your Swift Delivery, the driver will leave your order at your doorstep, or you can provide specific instructions for where to leave it. Please note that leaving your order unattended may compromise the quality of frozen products, fruits, vegetables, and other items. We cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur, and no refunds will be issued. Scheduled Delivery: If you miss your Swift Delivery, the driver will leave your order at your doorstep, or you can provide specific instructions for where to leave it. Please note that leaving your order unattended may compromise the quality of frozen products, fruits, vegetables, and other items. We cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur, and no refunds will be issued. Self-Collection: Please note that if you delay picking up your order within the 2-hour window from when it was placed, the quality of frozen products, fruits, vegetables, and other items may be compromised. If you fail to collect your items within this time-frame, any uncollected products may be affected. First Choice Grocery Store cannot be held responsible for any quality issues that arise in this situation, and no refunds will be issued for these items.

Are there any additional charges for waiting times?If a driver has to wait beyond the 10-minute grace period at your location, additional waiting charges will apply. Please ensure you are available to receive the delivery at the designated time.

Are there any non-refundable items?Yes, certain items are strictly non-refundable as per UK standards, regardless of collection or delivery method. This includes: Perishable Goods: Perishable items are only refundable if they are found to be faulty at the time of delivery or collection. Customers are encouraged to report any issues with perishable goods within 24 hours of receipt, provided that the conditions regarding self-collection and delivery (as outlined above) do not apply. If items are not collected in time or left outside and damaged due to the customer’s absence, First Choice Grocery Store will not be liable for any issues or refunds. Temperature-Sensitive Products: Items requiring temperature control, such as frozen foods, are also non-refundable if mishandled. Other Grocery Essentials: This includes open packages or items that are not returned in their original condition.

Is there any shipping cost on returns?For returns due to a change of mind or for reasons other than faults, damage, or misdescription, customers are responsible for return shipping costs, with a minimum charge of £3.99. A £1.99 restocking fee will apply to all returns and will be deducted from your refund. For returns of faulty, damaged, or mis-described items, First Choice Grocery Store will cover both the return shipping and restocking costs in accordance with UK consumer law. For self-collection customers, a £1.99 restocking fee will apply to any returned items. If you miss your delivery or collect late, please note that this may affect product quality, and First Choice Grocery Store cannot be held responsible for any issues arising from unattended deliveries.

How do customers purchase gift cards?Customers can easily purchase gift cards by visiting the Gift Card page on our website. Simply select your desired amount, enter the recipient's details, choose a delivery date, and proceed to payment. Once the checkout process is complete, you will receive an email confirmation of your purchase. Note: You can also purchase gift cards for yourself!
